The Abacos
Sandy Point

Among other things, Sandy Point is well known for it's thriving conch harvesting and conch export business. It's also the closest point on the Abacos mainland to Disney's "Fantasy Island" cruise ship destination, "Castaway Cay" (previously Gorda Cay).

For the budget minded fisherman, Sandy Point is an outstanding bonefish and permit location on the southern tip of Abaco. Good wading flats, too. There are two lodges based in Sandy Point; Pete and Gay Guest House and Oeisha Resort (neither are currently Go-Abacos sponsors).

Accommodations are simple, but the people are friendly and the guides know their stuff. With good weather these guides can make the one-hour run to Mores Island a location revered for big bonefish, permit and mutton snapper. Flats' fishing doesn't get any better than this combination; Sandy Point and Mores Island..
