Q: How many people does a Rainbow Rentals boat carry?
Our boats are designed to safely carry up to 7 adults or 1,400 pounds. We have been in The Abacos for decades and know our waters, and our renters' needs, very well. Our boats are custom designed and built for safe, enjoyable Abaco cruising for boaters of all ages. Wide beams, with plenty of "walk-around" space and easy access steps from the bow to the console make our Rainbow Rentals boats as comfortable and enjoyable to use as they are safe. Additionally, although many other boat rentals charge an extra, add-on fee for an on-board VHF radio, we don't. We feel the "peace of mind" our built-in radios give our renters is well worth including it in Rainbow Rentals' highly competitive prices.
_________________________Q: I am a novice boater, can I safely operate a Rainbow Rentals boat?
Rainbow Rentals fleet of rental boats is made available to novices. When renting a boat we explain and go through the boats with you. We also give you two charts that explain the areas. We then take you out in the boat and explain the different colors of the water and how color indicates depth so that you can recognize and avoid shallow areas. We turn the boat over to you and let you bring it back into our dock.

Q: What do you suggest for day trips?
Little Harbour.
A good day trip would be to leave Marsh Harbour and travel south to Little Harbour which is the home of Johnston's studio. Mr. Johnston, who passed away about three years ago, was a well known sculptor, and his studio and foundry are fascinating places to visit - his son Pete continues there now. Between the work at the Foundry and Pete's Pub, Pete stays very busy during the season. On your way back you can stop off at Sandy Cay for some great snorkeling. For lunch, stop at famous Hope Town and visit the candy striped lighthouse. You can snorkel beautiful beaches and reefs from the eastern side of the island.
Green Turtle Cay.
Another good day trip would be to travel north to Green Turtle Cay which is another beautiful and very picturesque settlement. Halfway there is Guana Cay. Go in and say HI to Albury at Nippers. He's a man that works only on Sundays basting the tastiest wild boar in town.
Once you arrive at Green Turtle, 26 miles north of Marsh Harbour, you can visiting the Alton Lowe Art Gallery and Green Turtle Historical Museum and Sculpture Garden. On this trip there are excellent shelling beaches as well as snorkeling sites.
And we haven't even mentioned Man O' War Cay, Treasure Cay, Baker's Bay, or any of the central and southern Abacos' dozens of other easily reached and immensely enjoyable cays, beaches and reef sites ... you can literally escape to a different spot every day for a month and experience a unique island environment with each new island discovery.
_________________________Q: I'm staying in Green Turtle - how do I get my Rainbow Rentals boat?
It's simple! Arrange to fly into Marsh Harbour rather than the Treasure Cay airport, take a quick taxi ride to our dock [about 15 minutes], check out your boat and you're on your way to wherever you're staying [the longest distance is Green Turtle Cay, about 30-40 minutes away with a Rainbow Rentals boat].Begin your vacation early and save the water taxi and land taxi fares - meet us in Marsh and we'll tell and show you everything you need to know about cruising and exploring The Abacos.
_________________________Rainbow Rentals is centrally located on Marsh Harbour's waterfront, just west of the Union Jack dock.
