Hello!

My apologies for invading your mailbox. My fiance and I are thinking of
honeymooning (in the Abacos) but we don't know anyone who has been. Any information you could send would be greatly appreciated. Any travel agent suggestions would also be welcome.

Thank You,

LW

I read with interest your comments on the Abacos. My husband and I are considering going there for a week or so this winter.
Any great suggestions on where to go and stay? We like to get away from the busy places and would love to find the great beaches you speak of. We don't want a resort atmosphere. Would prefer a place by ourselves. Any ideas you have would be appreciated.

Thanks - KS

Thank you so much for all your recommendations and comments on the Abacos and Green Turtle. I was overwhelmed with all the information. It really does sound just like what we are looking for. I will be contacting the (Abacos residents) shortly and also looking into (specific rental facility). I really appreciate your details. I'll let you know what we decide on.

We had talked about a cottage rental this year and since we like to snorkel, fish, etc., the Bahamas seemed like a good choice. I did a search on Bahamas and came up with a couple cottages on Lubbers Cay. I'm not sure where I first found the Abacos reference but decided to do a search on that and ultimately made my way to you. It seemed so pro Green Turtle I decided it needed exploring. It really was very kind of you to take so much of your time to reply in such detail.

If you do set up an Abacos site, please let me know about it.

Again, thanks for all your help - KS

Thank you so very much for the excellent information on Green Turtle Cay. It will take some time for me to digest it all. It was certainly most kind of you to give me such a thorough and helpful summary of it. One does meet the nicest people on the Internet!

My best to you and yours - JS

Thanks so much for your VERY informative message. I got a brochure from (rental property) today in the mail. Was that your doing?

We have been unable to get a
good flight from here to there during the time we can go. I think we may have to wait until next year (actually, '99). It seems the best flights for us are already booked. I guess I should have started this little trip planning much sooner.

We are NOT into touristy things. In fact, we crave privacy and quiet. My husband is an amateur photographer and we like to do nature kind of things. Other than that our
favorite things are reading, sleeping and eating!!! SOOOOO, that's why the Abacos sounded so good to us.

Thanks again - T

It has always been my lifelong dream to go to Green Turtle...and it may finally come true over the Thnaksgiving Holiday. I was wondering if you mind answering some of my correspondence up until my "great adventure" begins? I am a second year law student at the University of Tennessee. Anything that wouldn't be inconvenient would be a great help to me in
planning my trip.

Subject: More Green Turtle Info?

Hey friend!
My plans to make the trip to Green Turtle have progressed quite rapidly. I have found another couple to travel with us on the great adventure who, like myself, thrive on the remote and tranquil islands. The husband went to law school with me, and he is an avid fisherman. He claims he will give his "left arm" for total isolation from the rest of civilization for just one week. He did, however, ask me about the
the law on fishing on the island.

Does he need to get a license or permit? I understand that this may not be your area of expertise- but if you could tell me which of your friends that you have included in your other e-mail might know, I would like to contact them. We have tentatively decided to take our trip in March sometime- so I regret that we will not cross paths in November. I sure would like to buy you a beer for all of your assistance. As always, it is greatly appreciated. If we don't correspond before you leave for your trip, have a safe trip- I'll have plenty of questions for you when you get back!

Thanks Again - ST

P.S. Have a Kalik for me!

My wife and I are considering the Abacos for a vacation with our 8 and 13 year olds this summer and you seem to have a lot of knowledge about them. We are particularly interested in
good snorkeling from the beach or close by; as well as decent accommodations on the water. Do you have any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks very much - LP

Subject: info on Out Islands

My wife & I are planning a trip to the outer islands. We are around fifty and would like to sample a few of the islands in order to plan a longer trip to one or two of our favorites. This would be a scouting trip. Perhaps you can help us. We are interested in
areas that are not very "touristy", have a restaurant or two, beautiful beaches and solitude. We are both divers but enjoy snorkeling as much as using tanks.

Green Turtle sounds appealing but I couldn't find it. (Even more appealing!).

Any information that you may have as to what we may enjoy and what to avoid would be most appreciated. We would be coming from Phoenix, AZ.

Thanks in advance - J&MF

Subject: Abacos

(Thanks for all your help and information) ... my wife and some friends and I had a great time in Green Turtle in November. We stayed at a rental house and went out with (dive operator) alot. We generally tend to go somewhere new each year no matter how much fun we had on previous trips but we also like a good value so keep in touch.

It continues to amaze me how much great stuff you can find out by making friends on the net.

Thanks again - KT
