A "troubling of the waters" will be evident when the Sea of Abaco, the protected body of water between Green Turtle Cay and the Treasure Cay ferry docks, will come alive with the Annual Family Island / All Abaco Regatta. The beautiful native sloops with their huge canvas sails and long booms travel from all over the Bahamas to compete in the Cup Races.

| Traditional Abaco Sloops (sailing "workboats") ply the waters of The Sea of Abaco, creating an unforgetable spectacle (and some rather amazing shoreside parties!). |
For the last two years, a group of dedicated Abaconians, expatriates and visitors have combined their efforts and staged two very successful Regattas. This was done for the specific purpose of helping to keep the tradition and heritage of these wonderful Bahamian sailing sloops alive in Abaco. The Man-O-War built sloop "ABACO RAGE" after many years out of the sailing circuit has been beautifully restored by a very enthusiastic crew from Hope Town and adds great excitement to the races along with shoreside activities on both sides of the The Sea of Abaco.
